Part of making sure your custom closet is everything you want it to be involves getting to know you, your habits, and your home.
A well-designed and functional closet can flow with the rest of your home and simultaneously make your home a more organized and peaceful space. But it takes experience and expertise to be sure your custom closets are built to meet all of your needs.
How We work
What Makes A Good Closet Design?
What makes a good closet design for one homeowner can be different than for the next. It all comes down to your particular habits, exactly how you plan to use that closet, and the space you have available.
These are all things your designer will get to know about you during your consultation. In order to create a functional design, your designer will take an inventory of what you plan to store in your closet and understand what your pain points are.
Here are some of the factors a good closet design will take into account:
- The specific items being stored in that space
- Utilizing all available space (both horizontal and vertical space)
- Creating a mix of storage options for versatility
- Aesthetically pleasing elements. Setting you up for organizational success with strategies to stay organized for years to come

On average, most jobs are completed within two days. The length of a custom closet installation largely depends on not only the size of the closet but also the features and additions being incorporated in the design. In many cases, small reach-in closets can be customized in half a day or a day. As closets increase in size, so does project length. A custom walk-in closet may take a few days to complete and a large, boutique style custom closet can take up to a week.
During a consultation with one of our team members, we will be able to provide you with plenty of details and information, including how long your closet will take to design and install.
The best closet organizing system for you is one that takes all of your unique needs and your personal taste into account. At the same time, your organizing system must be one that’s realistic so it can be maintained for months and years to come. For most homeowners, this involves the incorporation of a variety of storage options built to meet unique needs and to store the specific items you intend to keep in your closet.
For example, this can include shoe racks that put your impressive collection on display, rotating glasses display cases, jewelry storage, and storage for seasonal items.
